An oak-framed new build in Dolton, finished with a handmade clay plain tile roof built to age as gracefully as the frame beneath it.
Handmade clay plain tiles were laid in close, even coursing across the roof, chosen for the natural variation that only comes from tiles shaped by hand. It's a finish that weathers beautifully over time, settling the building gently into the North Devon landscape as though it had always belonged there. The associated leadwork was dressed by hand at every junction and abutment, flashings, soakers and weatherings finished with the quiet precision that keeps a roof watertight for the long term without ever drawing attention to itself.
