These terms set out the basis on which we provide our services and the basis on which you may use this website. The specific terms of any project we carry out for you will be confirmed in your written quote and contract.
About these terms
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Jamie Brown. By requesting a quote, instructing us to carry out work or using this website, you agree to these terms. Where there is any difference between these terms and the written quote or contract for a specific project, the project documents take priority.
Quotes and estimates
Quotes are based on the information available at the time and remain valid for the period stated. The scope and price are set out in writing before work begins. If circumstances change once work is under way, for example where hidden defects are uncovered on an older property, we will discuss this with you and agree any variation before proceeding.
Carrying out the work
We will carry out the work with reasonable skill and care and in line with relevant standards and building regulations. Where a project requires planning permission, listed building consent or building control approval, we will advise you, but obtaining consents remains the property owner's responsibility unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit and stage payments, are set out in your quote or contract. Invoices are due within the period stated. We reserve the right to pause work where payments are overdue. Materials remain our property until paid for in full.
Guarantees
Where a guarantee or warranty applies, such as our insurance-backed guarantees on flat roofing or structural warranties on new builds, the terms of that guarantee are provided separately. Guarantees are subject to the work being maintained appropriately and not altered by others.
Liability
We carry appropriate insurance for the work we undertake. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects we were not engaged to address.
Use of this website
The content of this website is for general information about our services. Project photography and descriptions remain our property and the property of the relevant owners and may not be reused without permission. We take care to keep the information accurate but it does not form part of any contract.
