Overview

Clay tiles last 60 years or more and concrete tiles around 50, both dependent on correct laying and fixing. We have laid tile roofs across North Devon for over two decades, working with concrete interlocking tiles, machine-made and handmade clay tiles and clay plain tiles. Handmade clay plain tiles are often a planning requirement on listed and conservation area properties, where modern interlocking tiles would not be approved. Every tile roof is laid to BS 5534, which since 2014 requires every tile to be mechanically fixed rather than relying on nibs alone.
